Who I am

This website belongs to Samuel Labenne (“I”, “me”), an independent digital builder offering website, webshop, Odoo and Salesforce services. I am responsible for (the “controller” of) the personal information described here.

This policy is written to meet the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What I collect

• What you send me. This site has no forms. If you email me, I receive your email address, your name and anything you choose to include in your message.
• Technical information. When you visit, the hosting and network providers automatically process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, so the site can be delivered and kept secure. I don’t use this to identify you.
• Cookies and similar technologies. Analytics cookies are only used if you accept them. See the cookie policy for details.

How I use it, and why

I don’t sell personal information, I don’t use it for automated decision-making, and I won’t add you to a mailing list.

Who I share it with

Personal information is only shared with the services that make this site and my work possible:

• the website host, GitHub (GitHub Pages), and the domain and network provider, Cloudflare;
• my email provider;
• professional advisers, such as an accountant, where needed.

These providers may only use the information to provide their services. I may also disclose information where the law requires it.

International transfers

My business is registered in Australia, I work with clients in Europe and elsewhere, and some of these providers are based in other countries, including the United States. When personal information from the European Economic Area is transferred abroad, it is protected by recognised safeguards such as adequacy decisions (including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, where a provider is certified) or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. For Australian personal information, I take reasonable steps to make sure overseas recipients handle it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

How long I keep it

I keep emails only as long as they’re useful to answer and follow up on your enquiry. If we work together, I keep project correspondence and records for the length of the project and afterwards as long as the law requires (for example, for tax and accounting). Otherwise I delete them once they’re no longer needed.

Your rights

If you’re in the EU or EEA, you have the right under the GDPR to:

• access the personal information I hold about you;
• have it corrected if it’s inaccurate, or deleted;
• restrict or object to how I use it;
• receive it in a portable format;
• withdraw your consent at any time, where I rely on consent; and
• complain to your local data protection authority.

If you’re in Australia, you can ask to access or correct the personal information I hold about you. If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled it, please contact me first; you can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Elsewhere, you may have similar rights under your local law. To make a request, emailsamulab@proton.me. I’ll reply within one month (or 30 days under Australian law) and may need to confirm your identity first.

Security

The website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and I take reasonable measures to protect the information I hold. No system is completely secure, so please don’t email highly sensitive information unless we’ve agreed a secure way to share it.
